Healthy Smiles: A Day of Dental Care in Chimalhuacán

On February 24th, the Chimalhuacán Community Center became a place of health and wellness thanks to the generous support of "Dentista a Domicilio" (Dentist at Home), under the direction of Judy Romero. In an event that impacted the health of 42 patients, including women affiliated with MITZ, they received essential dental care, marking a significant day on their journey toward holistic well-being.

The following services were offered during this dental care program: 23 dental cleanings, ensuring brighter, healthier smiles; 13 resin applications, restoring the integrity and aesthetics of affected teeth; 4 fluoride applications, strengthening tooth enamel against cavities; 3 extractions, relieving pain and preventing future complications; 2 sealants, protecting the deep grooves of teeth from plaque buildup; and 1 general checkup, ensuring long-term dental health.

The age diversity of the beneficiaries reflects the importance of dental health throughout all life stages, from childhood to adulthood. With 17% of patients between 0 and 10 years old, 30% between 11 and 20 years old, 7% between 21 and 30 years old, 21% between 31 and 40 years old, 17% between 41 and 50 years old, and the remaining 7% between 51 and 60 years old, the clinic served as a vital reminder that it is never too early or too late to take care of our oral health.

Additionally, medication, specifically ibuprofen, was provided to one patient, emphasizing the event's commitment not only to immediate treatment but also to post-procedure relief and recovery.

This event was not only about providing free or low-cost dental services, but also about fostering a culture of prevention and dental care among vulnerable communities. The collaboration between MITZ and "Dentista a Domicilio" exemplifies how strategic partnerships can have a direct and positive impact on people's lives, offering not only healthier smiles, but also hope and a renewed sense of dignity.

We deeply appreciate everyone involved, whose generosity and dedication made this event possible, reaffirming our commitment to the comprehensive well-being of MITZ women and their families.
